United Steelworkers union voices contract concerns to Nippon

Contributing sentiments towards policy:

53% : Nippon Steel, which already employs more than 600 USW-represented workers at its U.S. operations, has pledged to observe all contracts U.S. Steel negotiated with the USW and to recognize the union as the workers' bargaining representative.
43% : It wants continued access to the company's finances for negotiation purposes and for U.S. Steel to continue to have quarterly committee meetings with the union in Pittsburgh and to continue to pay for public policy initiatives, the Institute for Career Development, supplemental unemployment benefits, an incentive pay plan and inflation recognition payments as dictated in the current contract it negotiated with U.S. Steel.
