Poll reveals Texans' views on abortion law that may surprise some

Contributing sentiments towards policy:

42% : Most opposition to the law came from the 46 percent of Texans who said abortion should be legal in all or most cases after six weeks.
42% : In early October, a federal judge temporarily blocked enforcement of the abortion law, though it was not clear how many providers opted to resume the procedure.
41% : At the time, the high court also declined to weigh in on whether Senate Bill 8 complies with the Constitution -- or court precedents that bar states from banning abortion before the point a fetus can survive outside the womb, about 22 to 24 weeks.
31% : Since then, the law has "virtually eliminated abortion in Texas after six weeks of pregnancy," the Biden administration said in a recent court filing.
