However, I do not think that this would ever happen. There are too many issues getting countries to sign onto a treaty to protect indigenous people. A treaty would help protect indigenous people and their land to make sure that they cannot be washed away, harmed, or imprisoned for protecting themselves and their land. This would make sure that the land stays there as they were there first and their culture is preserved. An international treaty however is a very unlikely situation though that would never happen. Read Less

However, I think that there should be treaties between nation states and internal organizations similar to the US and Native American tribes. Furthermore, I think the treaties between the US and Natives should to a degree, be renegotiated. And the Native Americans deserve more attention from federal authorities in terms of aid. To my knowledge, I think the the feds cannot intrude on their land without certain consent. But I think the treaties being renegotiated and would be beneficial to both sides for the reasons that the feds should intervene and help these people. Especially on issues like alcoholism. But no, I do think there should be an international treaty as I think it would be a situation of too many cooks in the kitchen in that politicians from certain countries have no idea how the indigenous peoples are living across the world. Read Less

However, implementation and enforcement are unlikely to be all too successful in the current day, I think. Read Less
