Governments must do so. It is part of its job to provide public infrastructure according to its demand and need.

Many world governments are already dealing with strained budgets. Climate change is a major problem, but many countries don’t have the resources to invest. This is why I think the burden for investing in infrastructure to support electric vehicles is on corporations and other private entities. Read Less

There is a multitude of other infrastructure projects that need funding before this one should take place. Roads need to be fixed, public transportation made safer and more efficient, major structures repaired, etc. Focusing on public transportation alone significantly helps the environment and reduces fossil fuel emissions. Maybe in the future the government can look into infrastructure for electric vehicles, but I would not consider it a priority right now. Read Less
