It is a program organized by the United Nations to make sure that places of cultural significance all across the planet are cared for. It is a noble task and I believe it should get more funding. A quick google search found that UNESCO only gets a billion or so in funding. Which to me, is not nearly enough. I think each member nation ought to contribute a percentage of a total as agreed upon by the UN General Assembly. That way it is fair and each world heritage site is properly taken care of. And it also allows for more sites to be designated as world heritage sites. Read Less
