I think the bigger issue is why half of the eligible population refuses to vote and participate in anything political related. It does not matter whether the voting age is 16, 18 or 21 when there is no interest, when the population feels like there is no reward or there is no point to participating and casting a vote.

Personally, I feel as though many younger citizens have not experienced enough to develop a complete set of morals and values. They are heavily influenced by family and friends. This would make the group particularly easy to be influenced and swayed. I believe that the best voters are those who have developed their own viewpoints independent of others’ opinions. Read Less
