Yes, I think it is important to ban the sale of ivory because it is important to save the elephant population. I think that will be the first step to help the wildlife.
Considering the resource has no real legitimate use at the current time, in addition to the threat of extinction regarding some species of elephant, a global ban would be prudent to protect them.
The benefits of ivory is not essential or a basic need for us. For that reason, I think it is more important to protect the elephant population.

In all honesty, it is pointlessly cruel to hunt down and harm animals for their tusks for goods when using other material is simply as effective. The only reason Ivory is used is because it’s deemed valuable. And, most importantly, the hunt for this “good” has resulted in the harming and even killing of Elephants, which has greatly reduced the population. So, in my honest opinion, there should be a global ban on the sale of Ivory so the Elephant population can be protected. Also, not to sound childish, but if you think about it, it’s not very hygienic to use the teeth of an animal to make goods. Read Less

Yes, it is unethical to let elephants die and go extinct simply to harvest their ivory.
Yes, elephant populations are dwindling, and many other species are too. Thus, we should do our best globally to protect this.
