K2 Radio was founded on January 2, 1930, as KDFN by H.P. Butterworth, who came up with the idea to create Wyoming's first radio station. Just weeks after its launch, the station was acquired by Walter Guiton, who became the main proprietor and editor. The call letters were changed to KTWO in 1959 to match its new sister TV station. Today, K2 Radio is owned by Townsquare Media, a media company that acquired the station in 2019.K2 Radio primarily covers local news, politics, sports, and community events in Casper and throughout Wyoming. Based in Casper, Wyoming, the station has expanded its reach beyond traditional radio broadcasting to include digital content and streaming platforms. K2 Radio has made a name for itself as a trusted source of news and information for listeners across the state, offering a mix of local programming and syndicated shows.**One interesting fact**: K2 Radio has one of the most powerful signals in Wyoming. During daylight hours, its 50,000-watt tower covers most of the state, and at night, it can reach much of the western United States. The station has even received reception reports from as far away as Japan.
K2 Radio is ranked 23,997 among other media sources and has an average of 181,851 monthly visits according to Similar Web.
