KSAT was founded in 1957 as KONO-TV by Mission Telecasting Corporation. The idea came from the desire to bring television broadcasting to the growing San Antonio market. In 1968, the station was purchased by the Outlet Company and changed its call letters to KSAT in 1969. Over the years, KSAT has changed hands several times, including ownership by H&C Communications in 1986. Today, KSAT is owned by Graham Media Group, a subsidiary of Graham Holdings Company, which acquired the station in 1994 .KSAT, based in San Antonio, Texas, covers a wide range of news including local, national, and international stories, as well as sports, weather, politics, and entertainment.
