Today, we’re all MAGA

Why Troubling News:

First, the title is unspecific about who "all" is referring to. If "all" is implied to be all Americans, this broad of a statement cannot be true and is extremely misleading. The article claims Trump was "bleeding from the head," but he was actually bleeding from the ear. The author states that "there is only one appropriate response" to the Trump assassination attempt, which is a biased opinion. She also describes those who do not share this opinion as people living in a "cesspit," which is extremely harsh and crude language.

This is very problematic as it only deepens polarization. Just because someone doesn’t share the same opinions doesn’t mean that person have their nationality invalidated. The phrase “such horrors” also seems odd. Now attempting to kill a president, sitting or former, is terrible for obvious reasons. At the same time, President Trump is hardly the first American head of state to have an attempt on his life. There have been six other presidential assassination attempts before this, four of which were actually successful. Read Less
