Trump Orders Immediate Review of DEI Hiring in FAA Following Deadly Air Collision
The article claims that "During the Biden and Obama administrations, the FAA hired people with intellectual and psychiatric disabilities for a wide range of positions and prioritized race-based assessments for screening applicants." This statement reinforces the belief that DEI practices have prioritized identity over capability and wrongly shifts the attention from discovering actually went wrong in the plane crash to parrot party beliefs on affirmative action and diversity in the workplace. The article fails to acknowledge that the hiring practices for the FAA to increase opportunities for Americans with disabilities began during the Trump administration in 2020 and the hiring practices for the FAA during Biden's administration has not changed since then. This is most troubling because it dismisses the merit of the millions of people with disabilities who are able to do their jobs exceedingly well and encourages discrimination against them in the workplace.
